Seminar2023.09.28

We held a whole-day mid-term presentation sessions for the 2023 undergraduate seminar.

On September 28th, we held a study session (mid-term presentation) for our undergraduate seminar within Waseda University. As we have not held off-campus camps in recent years, we have been organizing these on-campus study sessions before the start of the fall semester as an alternative, which include mid-term research presentations and discussions.

During the morning session, each fourth-year student presented their mid-term research progress within a 15-minute timeframe per person. In the afternoon, we had the honor of welcoming Dr. Yasuhiro Mochizuki, an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at the Center for Data Science, Waseda University, as a guest lecturer. Dr. Mochizuki delivered a session entitled "The Science and Practice of Mindfulness Meditation," introducing research on the neuroscience of meditation and guiding us through various practices. The overarching theme for his session was a fundamental question: "What kind of life do we want to live?"

Following this session, apart from the mid-term presentations by the third-year group research, we engaged in activities such as games organized by the Camp Staff.
