Graduation ceremony of the Department of Psychology, Graduate School of Letters, Arts and Scicnes for the 2026 Academic Year was held.
3月25日に、大学院の2024年度学位授与式が行われました。近年は、学部で心理学を学ばれた卒業生の方と合同で行われています。
最近は毎年の恒例になっていますが、私からは、すぐに役に立ったり人の営みに関係しないように思わることにも、知的好奇心を持って探求していくのが学問の本来の在り方だという趣旨のことをお話しました。
昆虫好きの私などは、毎年真冬になると、キャンパス内でウスバフユシャクという蛾の翅のないメスを探したりしていますが、そうした目を向ける人が少ないであろう数知れない対象も含めて、この世界は回っています。研究したことが役に立たないように思われても、それは巡り巡って生活を豊かにしたり、人生に彩りを添えるのかもしれません。
今年度は、修士課程の５名が無事に修了され、新年度からはそれぞれの道に進まれれることになりました。数年にわたって研究室で学んできた人も多く、私としてもひと段落というところです。
