Presentation2026.03.26

We held oral & poster presentations at the 16th Asian Conference on Psychology & the Behavioral Sciences (ACP2026).

The 16th Asian Conference on Psychology & the Behavioral Sciences (ACP2026), an international academic conference in the fields of psychology and behavioral sciences in Asia, was held in Tokyo.

This was my first time attending the conference, which brings together researchers from across Asia and around the world.

While this may partly reflect the cultural diversity of the participants, many attendees appeared to have strong interests in cross-cultural comparative research and indigenous psychology. It seems that, through experiences such as leaving one’s home region and living in different cultural contexts, many researchers come to focus on the relative similarities and differences between regions as a central theme of their work.

From Miyata Laboratory, we presented poster sessions on both cross-sectional and intervention studies related to mindfulness. In addition, Miyata served as chair of an oral session on Yoga Psychology. I also gave a presentation on topics such as the practice of online laughter yoga. Although my preparation was somewhat last-minute and I had little time to rehearse, I embraced the situation and engaged the audience by incorporating live demonstrations, which I believe has helped create an enjoyable and interactive session.
