We made poster presentations at the 12th Annual Meeting of the Japaense Association of Mindfulness.
The 12th Annual Conference of the Japanese Association of Mindfulness was held on March 7–8, 2026, at a venue in Nagoya. This year’s conference was organized around the theme “Mindfulness for Life.”
One of the most notable highlights of the conference was the invitation of Professor W. Kuyken from the University of Oxford as a special lecturer, a leading scholar in contemporary mindfulness practice and research worldwide. Contrary to the formality suggested by his distinguished title, his session was delivered in a gentle and approachable manner, inviting participants to reflect deeply on life itself. In a positive sense, it stood in good contrast to the often rigid image of academic presentations, creating a space where participants could directly experience the moment of “here and now.”
Multiple members from the Miyata Laboratory also participated in the conference and delivered two poster presentations. These presentations focused on mindfulness practices integrated with eating/drinking and aromatherapy, respectively, and attracted considerable interest from the attendees.
