Kaho Yamasaki, Arisa Yokosu, Francesco Saldarini, and Hiromitsu Miyata presented posters at the 13th Society for Tokyo Young Psychologists.
The Society for Tokyo Young Psychologists (STYP) is a local academic association around Tokyo that originated from the Department of Psychology, Waseda University, and are being run by quite young generations of psychologists including graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Undergraduate students are also eligible to present posters.
This year, we had a totally face-to-face conference for the first time since 2019. There were obviously larger number of posters than in previous several years in which the meetings were totally online, which allowed us to catch the latest trends of the scientific progress. From Miyata Lab, we presented four posters as follows:
Yamasaki, K., Sampei, A., & Miyata, H. (2023). Moderating effects of self compassion in the relationship between rumination and psychological health. 13th Society for Tokyo Young Psychologists (13th STYP) Poster 5. Conference Room 1, Toyama Campus, Waseda University. March 11, 2023 (in Japanese).
Yokosu, A., Maruyama. T., Hori, M., & Miyata, H. (2023). Altered awareness of self-other boundary and creative attitudes induced by a bodywork based on the Eastern traditions: A preliminary study. 13th Society for Tokyo Young Psychologists (13th STYP) Poster 13. Conference Room 1, Toyama Campus, Waseda University. March 11, 2023 (in Japanese).
Saldarini, F., Yamasaki, K., & Miyata, H. (2023). Associations between chronic stress, attention, and acceptance: A direct replication study. 13th Society for Tokyo Young Psychologists. Poster 18. Conference Room 1, Toyama Campus, Waseda University. March 11, 2023 (Excellent Presentation Award: Category of Ph.D. Students)(in English).

Miyata, H., Kubota, I., Oikawa, I., Okamoto, T., & Konno, Y. (2023). Introduction of meditation sessions in the on-demand lectures of a university and examination of its psychological impacts: An examination throughout 2021 school year. 13th Society for Tokyo Young Psychologists (13th STYP) Poster 34.
