Wang Zhen(Fourth-Year Undergraduate Student)

Profile & Research

I am a 4th-year undergraduate student at the School of Culture, Media and Society. I am currently studying at Professor Miyata’s “Mind-Body” laboratory.

My research interest focuses on mindfulness, meditation, and music therapy.

During the 3rd year of undergraduate program, within the group research project I had a chance to explore the differences of psychological perceptions between music tuned to 432hz and 440hz.

I believe that music plays significant roles in meditation, and can have profound psychological effects on humans. Instruments such as the singing bowl, temple block, and chime are known for their distinctive cleansing qualities.

For my future research, I aim to investigate how sound may contribute to the overall effectiveness of meditation.
