Koki Tomizawa(First-Year Master's Course Student)
Profile & Research
After working for many years, I graduated from the e-School of Human Sciences at Waseda University and entered the Master’s program in Psychology.
During my undergraduate studies, I focused on “kuzushi” (balance disruption) in traditional Japanese martial arts (Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu). In particular, I examined the relationship between eye movements and postural sway measured by center of pressure (COP).
Currently, I am interested in the bodily responses that occur when people experience Aiki techniques. I investigate how subtle physical interactions influence posture and body responses, especially in individuals without prior training.
I have been practicing traditional Japanese martial arts for over 27 years, and I aim to integrate my practical experience with scientific research. I am also interested in understanding these phenomena from the perspectives of interoception and attention.
